About Ben Davis
The most useful lessons rarely come from the highlight reel.
Ben Davis is the founder of The Gents Place Franchise and the host of Untrapped Entrepreneur. For more than 18 years, he has built businesses, made costly mistakes, faced difficult decisions, and found more than a few traps of his own.
He learned that growth, ambition, and even success can become traps when they pull you away from your faith, family, values, or the reason you began in the first place.
18+ YEARS BUILDING AND LEARNINGWhy Untrapped Exists
Entrepreneurs do not need another person telling them to hustle harder.
I have spent years building businesses, talking with entrepreneurs, and making mistakes of my own. One thing I have learned is that the public version of success rarely tells the whole story.
We hear about the growth, the big opportunity, and the outcome. We do not always hear about the bad partnership, the cash flow problem, the strain at home, the crisis of faith, or the moment someone realized the business they built had started controlling them.
Those are often the stories with the most to teach us.
I started Untrapped Entrepreneur to create a place for honest conversations about what really happens behind the business. My hope is that you will hear a guest talk about a trap they faced and recognize something in your own journey while there is still time to make a wiser decision.
The goal is not to help you build a bigger business at any cost. It is to help you build with greater wisdom, freedom, and a clearer sense of what matters.

Experience Behind the Questions
Ben asks from the operator's seat.
The Gents Place is a luxury barber and business club that brings men's grooming, personal service, and connection together. As its founder, Ben brings the experience of building a brand and a franchise business into the questions he asks on Untrapped.
For more than 18 years, Ben has built and operated businesses across personal care, franchising, manufacturing, recruiting, and media. Each venture has brought a different set of lessons about growth, leadership, cash flow, hiring, operations, brand, and responsibility.
Those experiences allow Ben to move past surface-level questions and understand the real decisions behind a guest's story.
That does not mean Ben has all the answers. It means he understands how complicated the questions can be.
Keep the conversation going between episodes.

What Keeps the Work in Perspective
Business matters. It is not what matters most.
Ben's Catholic faith shapes how he thinks about work, leadership, and success. It reminds him that business can create jobs, serve customers, support families, and put our gifts to good use. It also reminds him that ambition can become a trap when the business begins to take the place of what matters more.
Family, service, and stewardship are not separate from Ben's entrepreneurial life. They are part of how he measures whether the work is worth doing and whether it is being done well.
That commitment also extends to Operation Gentlemen, an initiative that has helped provide meals, haircuts, suits, and clothing to veterans, service members, and people experiencing homelessness.
Untrapped welcomes people of every faith and background. Faith is an important part of Ben's story, so he will not hide it. But it will never be used as a test for who belongs in the conversation.

Keep Learning
You do not have to learn every lesson the hard way.
Every Untrapped conversation is designed to help you recognize a trap sooner, ask a better question, or make a wiser decision before something important is lost.
